Hem the edge of fabric that is turned under and sewn or fused with iron on tape.
Fabric covered cabinet doors.
More on that below.
If you are using framed fabric prints you created yourself decide if you want to use screws or glue to affix them to the cabinets.
Step five sew hems.
Place the fabric door panels in the frames and make sure they are lined up on the frame evenly and straight.
Place the fabric on a flat surface and cut it with a pair of scissors.
Also add enough for the hem and casings.
Measure the length of the cabinets that you are going to cover with the fabric covering and transfer that to the actual fabric.
Pick a fabric that mirrors the pattern and create an inset for your cabinet doors.
You will need the extra width to gather the fabric so it looks shirred when you close the door.
Most fabric is at least 44 55 from selvage to selvage.
The tension of the fabric and the board against the edges of the cabinet should hold it in place no need to tape or glue anything.
When your door is lined and both velcro pieces are stuck together on the door remove the protective tape exposing the sticky.
Next cut your fabric to one and a half times the width of the glass area.
Step 3 create tape outline on cabinet doors.
Make sure the measurement is at least 4 inches longer on the length for making the hem.
Push the foam board firmly against the back of the cabinet.
Determine how much yardage to buy based on 1 5 to two times more than the width of your cabinet to allow for a full gather.
